Eating Healthy doesn't have to be Expensive

Bring Lunches to school/work

  • Plan out menu for week, make a grocery list and stick to that list!

  • Buy produce in season

  • Buy frozen vegetables and fruit

  • Buy staples like nuts, seeds, nutrient dense grains, & legumes in bulk

  • Eat out less – eat at home more often

  • Make healthy snacks to have at the ready all week long

  • Have coffee at home

  • Cut down (or cut out completely!) packaged/pre-made/convenience food products as they often cost more, contain a lot of chemicals (& yucky fake stuff) that just isn't good for you anyhow

  • Make BiG meals that you can turn into another meal or freeze for a later date

  • Have a couple of meat free meals a week to save money

  • Eat leftovers – try using for lunches, get creative!

  • Make your own dressings, sauces, condiments

  • Buy Meat/Fish in Bulk and then portion out and freeze (just make sure to date it so you know when it needs to be defrosted and eaten!)

  • Grow your own food (even a small balcony can have a small herb and veggie garden)

  • Don't buy drinks! Fruit juices, soda, and fancy energy drinks not only are expensive – they are not good for you so try sticking to water! If you love sparkling water – invest in Sodastream (or the like) It will save you heaps of money (and its a lot less waste!)

  • Try buying 'home' brands when possibleBuy staples like nuts, see
